Norwich Cathedral Library incorporates the library of the Lincoln Theological Institute and the Dean & Chapter's historic collection

Modern theology collection.
An annual subscription of £12 enables you to borrow up to eight books for six weeks.

The modern theology catalogue is available online.

The list of new books  has details of books added to the Library up to the end of April 2012.

Historic collection.

  • Card catalogue for the historic collection available in the library.
  • Books printed on the continent before 1701 appear on Copac . All Norwich books can be found by searching for keyword "Norwich", in library "cathedral libraries".
  • Books printed in the British Isles, colonial America, Canada before 1801 appear on the English Short Title Catalogue (ESTC). All Norwich books can be found by selecting "search by" "library name" and entering "Norwich Cathedral".

 

Journals.
A full list of journals taken by the library, with contents lists for some, is available.

Reading Room
The reading room is open to the general public for quiet study, with seating capacity for up to ten people.

What else we offer

Occasional exhibitions of material from the cathedral’s collections, monthly talks on subjects represented within the library, academic seminars and theological discussion groups. Further afield in the diocese, the library participates in lay and clergy development courses, enabling outreach beyond the confines of the physical library.
