Tutor: Russell Jefford

The life of St Athanasius (c. 295-373 AD) is intimately connected with the fourth century formation of the doctrine of the Trinity in the aftermath of the landmark Church council at Nicaea in 325 AD. Imaginative Language and the Doctrine of the Trinity
Saturday 26 May, 10-12.30pm in the Library
Tutor: Ken Martin
Cost: £10
Far from being dull, obscure or irrelevant, the Doctrine of the Trinity was the product of creative ideas and imaginative language, and is still the most stimulating aspect of Christian belief today. Our study will range from the Greek Church Fathers to Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Reformed, Anglican and Baptist thinkers. We shall think creatively about the doctrine and its relational implications for Christian life and for the Church. Come prepared to have your mind stretched, to contribute constructively, and have your belief in God refreshed.
