This Day Conference is structured around a series of short talks, group work and discussion. It is specifically intended for:

The Conference will give participants the opportunity to explore ways of responding both effectively and with compassion to children and families facing loss, change and bereavement.
Issues addressed will include:
• Living with and/or caring for a parent, child, relative or friend who is terminally ill or dying
• Sudden and unexpected death
• The challenges facing those working in a supportive role.

Facilitators:
Tracey Dryhurst is the Manager of the Child and Family Bereavement Support Service for Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. She trained as a paediatric nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, working with children who have life-limiting illnesses. In 1999 she moved to Norfolk and set up the Child Bereavement Support Service as part of the Specialist Palliative Care Unit. She provides therapeutic intervention for children, young people, their families and carers following the sudden death of an adult or child. Tracey also works with families where a parent or child is dying or who has a life-limiting illness. Tracey is currently studying for her Masters in Child Psychotherapy at the Institute for Arts in Therapy in London.
In 1994 Patricia Noone and a colleague set up and co-managed the Adult Bereavement Support Service at Priscilla Bacon Lodge, the Hospice in Norwich. She recruited, trained and managed a team of volunteers to support the bereaved, particularly those with complicated bereavement. She provided training on loss and bereavement to the public and private sectors as well as setting up and delivering conferences on issues surrounding bereavement. Patricia is an Accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. She has a Masters Degree from Cambridge University and a Diploma in Counselling from the University of East Anglia. She worked as a counsellor in General Practice for 16 years and continues to work as a private practitioner and supervisor.
